This body of work came from my own awareness of the Presence of God in my life, specifically through the lens of Christianity. I chose sculpture as the medium in which the process of making and viewing art becomes tangible in order to reflect how we interact with the physical world. It is here where the concrete meets the abstract in material, grappling the notion of “Presence”. The use of water, light, and sound within work are natural elements of our surrounding physical world. This reflects God's Revelation in the natural world. The hollowed shroud questions God's presence in the moment of Resurrection, while the fountain reflects his appearance in the Blood of Christ. Shema reflects the clarity/vagueness of presence through the use of reflection itself. For all people, these natural elements are part of  how we all communicate and experience the physical world, and either knowingly or unknowingly interact with the Presence.
